Holy, Blameless, and Beyond Reproach

One of my favorite books of the bible is Colossians. It is so rich with truth and you can see Paul's love for believers he has never met.

Our Sunday School class is going through this amazing book and there was a passage that stopped me in my tracks. I have been meditating on it these past few weeks and am thankful for the Lord's goodness.

And though you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds, yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach. Colossians 1:21-22

To think, we were separated from God and running away from Him. We hated God and wanted nothing to do with Him. He is holy and we can see it in Genesis when Adam and Eve sinned, they had to leave the garden.

The only way we can love God is through His Son. I think we can take John 3:16 for granted sometimes. We know it well but do we think about the words and what God has done.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16

He is gracious to let us live and even hear the gospel and even read His Word.

I love the transition Paul makes. We were hostile toward God and alienated from Him but through His Son we are holy, blameless and beyond reproach.

I can get disheartened by my sin and the battle I face on a daily basis. This passage encourages my heart that the Father sees Christ in me so I can approach Him with confidence and without fear.

I love this reminder that despite of my sin He loves me still. And He loves you too.

  1. Isn't it amazing that we are viewed as sinless in God's eyes when we accept His gift of salvation!??!! What amazing grace!
